Several of my stories are about me flying with fast jets but after EAA AirVenture 2021 I flew out with one of the really giant planes used to move supplies, equipment and people all over the world, the C-17A Globemaster III. This plane can land lots of places that don't have really good runways, or maybe even any runways, so that makes it really useful.
The group I flew out with was part of the Air Force Reserve Command's 911th Airlift Wing, 758th Airlift Squadron. I haven't reported back to my custodians yet, but it's well known that this group flew to Afghanistan during that hectic few days in late 2021 when the United States needed to get lots and lots of people out of the country. I know I'll have some stories to tell when I get back.
