I'm the fourth and newest flag. Like all the others I first flew over a Capitol Building. I flew in Madison over the Wisconsin State Capitol. My first flight was with a young man who grew up very close to where my custodians live in Wisconsin. We met him at AirVenture in 2019 when he was showing people the AH-64 Attack Helicopter. I flew back to Ft. Campbell, Kentucky with him. But those helicopters don't stay there very much. I had a great time flying with them back to their home base, but they were really busy and going to places I couldn't really go. Also, it was during the pandemic and that made everything crazier.
But everybody was really nice and my first flying was fun. The young man who took me with him to Ft. Campbell actually wasn't even able to send me back. He had a friend get me and mail me back home. I'm not sure exactly where he was but I know lots of the Apache helicopters were in Afghanistan off and on for many years. But he made sure I got home in time for EAA Airventure 2021.
